~ A WORD OF THANKS ~
It would be remiss of me to overlook the very valuable contributions of many people who have assisted me along the way in realizing and publishing several unknown early works, as well as the wire recordings, of Dr. Murdo MacDonald-Bayne. It has come to my attention that some sources have unwisely attempted to discredit the efforts and work of the students of "Dr. Mac." However, I would like to point out the important fact that if it were not for the sincere enthusiasm and untiring dedication of many students in mid-1980s these various books and the recordings would not have surfaced or seen the light of day. They are:
1) The Supreme Power Course (A Course of 22 Lessons)
A healer in England, who is also a student of Dr. Bayne's teachings, was contacted in late 1983 by a lady, Dora B., who brought this Course to his attention. He in turn presented it to L N Fowler, the copyright holders, who then passed it on to me in Canada to publish. With regard to the Preface of the Course which I was preparing and noted a few missing pages, Dora wrote to me in 1984 as follows:
"I am glad the Course is going to be used again - it takes me back many years, to the 1930's in fact, when Murdo MacDonald-Bayne started his College of Universal Science and Psychology in Manchester, and my Mother wanted to join but didn't like going on her own, so she asked me to go as well. I was in my teens at the time and didn't need any persuading, so off we went.
"The classes were weekly and we did enjoy them. He was such a good speaker, even then, and he was certainly a very good advert for his beliefs - he was full of vigour and vitality, and he shone with good health. He was a tall, well-made man with a 'presence' about him.
"My Mother died in 1961 and she had cherished the 'Murdo Papers' as she called them, right up to the last, so it is not to be wondered at that some pages became dog-eared and adrift and a few back pages of both sets suffered the ravages of time. ... "

2) The Commentary Notes to The Higher Power You Can Use
Also in mid-1980's, in Pretoria, South Africa, one of the original students of Dr. Bayne's classes presented to Paul Troxler of Pretoria, a dedicated student of Dr Bayne, the complete collection of lecture notes which were the basis of a series of talks given by Dr. Bayne in which he freely commented and expanded on the text of his first book, providing further insight and more detailed explanations of the material. These lecture notes were also forwarded to me and published in Canada.
3) The Sanctuary of the Silent Healing Power
~ Monthly Letters, Books 1, 2, and 3
This series was patiently collected by Paul Troxler to the best of his ability and forwarded to me in 1984 for publishing in Canada although there had been a number of missing Monthly Letters yet. However, in the year 2002 I received further assistance from a handful of older students and new enthusiastic ones of Dr. Bayne, who were able to provide most of those missing. These were added to the revised version in 2003. So, slowly and surely the work has gone forward. Published in Canada with North American version of spelling.
4) "Life Everlasting" and its sequel
"Your Silent Partner - Cosmic Consciousness" ~
These two are based on the original lecture notes of 1947 to 1948. The first book was lovingly compiled and prefaced by Paul Troxler of Pretoria. I had the privilege of preparing the manuscript of "Life Everlasting" for L. N. Fowler Co. of England, who published it in 1981. It is now published in Canada by MacDonald-Bayne Publications.
Several years later I prepared the manuscript for the second book, "Your Silent Partner - Cosmic Consciousness" which I would publish, based on an Agreement with the copyright holders in 1989. However my publication was delayed for various reasons which included four complete revisions of format. Despite this I am pleased to say that "Your Silent Partner - Cosmic Consciousness" was published, since 2002, and began with "Part One" commencing with the subject of Healing. "Part Two" was also completed and it too is available in Canada from MacDonald-Bayne Publications.
5) Cassette Recordings ~ Transposed from wire recordings plus original transcripts of the lecture notes as a companion ~
Back in 1979 I began the work of transposing 116 of the wire recordings of Dr. Bayne's lectures given in Pretoria and Johannesburg between 1949 and 1954. Originally they had been recorded by Louis Thomas, now deceased. At first it was quite a feat to track down a suitable machine on which to play the wires properly, and thence transfer to master reels and make cassette copies to sell to the public. This task took up much of my spare time for nearly two years, in between holding a full-time job as well, but eventually it was accomplished.
The sixteen volumes with ten lectures in each are based on the original lecture notes, 1949/54, and I published them in 2002, titled "Recorded Lectures and Transcripts" and are intended to accompany each of the recorded talks which were given in a series of ten lectures. They are helpful to the reader before hearing the recordings since some of the lectures do not always begin at the beginning or have an ending at times, as well as breaks in the original wire where a knot was tied in order to continue and this interrupts the flow of speech at times.

To explain further, the printed weekly lectures were given out to students at the lecture hall prior to the talk, and these subsequently formed the basis for all of Dr. Bayne's books and monthly newsletters distributed throughout the mid-1940's and into early 1950's and the standard books printed were the logical outcome of the lectures.
Apart from the two books compiled by Paul Troxler using lectures of 1947-1948, plus the sixteen volumes, the Transcripts, published by myself in 2002, based on the lectures of 1949/54, there still remains some miscellaneous dated and undated material yet to be compiled which I will likely publish in future.
Also, newly discovered in 2007 was the early work, "Words of Wisdom and Power" which dates to the period of 1932 when the "Supreme Power Course" was presented.
In closing may I say that it has been a most interesting and rewarding journey to discover the unknown and early works of Dr. Bayne as well as the valuable recordings of his lectures in South Africa which I later transferred to magnetic tape and made available to the public in 1980. I sincerely hope all of these will add to the reader's knowledge and appreciation of his timeless spiritual message for mankind.
